All Things As Virtual Reality: A Trilogy

Immersing yourself in 3-D’what if’ situations, ideally your own creation – the first versions of this supreme in Star Trek holodeck simulations – is the title of the virtual reality game.  Obviously, you experience virtual reality 24/7/52.  Anything and what you encounter is courtesy of your sensory apparatus, your memories, and your overall state of being a conscious, self indulgent being.  If all reality is seasoned solely within your mind then you already exist within a virtual reality‘universe’.  That’s especially the case when you dream.  That may also literally be the case.  In that Star Trek virtual reality holodeck, a few characters were really real and some characters were virtually actual.  What if in this (holodeck) planet you’re actually one of these virtual reality characters?

There is a lifelong virtual reality scenario that plays out inside your skull from the time you develop a reasonable facsimile of a mind until your death.  This Gravity virtual reality scenario, call it understanding if you will, is being constantly upgraded as you continue to get new sensory data from outside (outside being external to a skull).  But the contents of the ever-unfolding psychological virtual reality scenario (I do not really wish to call it a’match’), your psychological path through life from birth to death, do not endlessly increase.  Your mind isn’t a black hole receptacle that can suck in everything that externally comes your way.

At any and every given moment just part of the overall virtual reality scenario your brain finds itself is front-and-center.  That’s pretty much what it is you are conscious of in the immediate here and now.  Other components are saved off as a memory, in your subconscious, from sight and out of mind until needed.  However, by far and away most of the virtual reality mental software only dissolves back into bits and bytes.  Over your lifespan, you’re going to forget 99.999percent of everything you ever experienced.  These bits and bytes will only be reused, recycled, and reassembled as required – the raw materials from which another installment of complex front-and-center virtual reality conscious encounter plays out.  Other bits and bytes are dropped via heat and other waste products to be substituted by your ingestion and breaking from food, atmosphere, water, etc..  So your mind just isn’t an endlessly absorbing sponge or dump bits and bytes.  Translated, over your lifespan, bits and bytes in will pretty much equal bits and bytes out.

Much like our simulation – if simulation there is.  There is the highly structured NOW in which the bits and bytes are assembled into our perceived virtual reality landscape.  All of the constructed bits and bytes which made up NOW, now dissolve back into their basic components to be reused, recycled and reassembled to your brand new, next, forthcoming NOW.  In other words, all of the software that is now past tense, which has served its purpose, and it has come and gone can be reused, recycled and reassembled into the software required that’s yet to emerge – of their future yet to unfold.

If the first mind analogy isn’t sufficient, consider one of our own simulations, be it gambling, training or”what if” research.  The only part of the entire world is active at any one time and, at the first two cases at least (gambling and training) under the control of the user (i.e. – the trainee or player ).   That’s all the computer need manage from moment to moment.  That NOW fraction.   Therefore, you can have a huge amount of software, say enough to simulate the entire observable Universe, but just a small fraction has been played out and processed in any one time – so you don’t need huge computing crunch power to simulate an entire Cosmos because not all of the simulated Cosmos is in-your-face in any NOW minute.

Now the only reality that you’ve ever known is the reality you end up in right now.  You’ve never known any other type of reality despite the fact that you know some actual, and a few potential other realities exist.  You know there has to be some type of reality inside a Black Hole but exactly what that is, nobody knows, and even though there is speculation that our entire Cosmos is the inside of a Black Hole, you are likely assuming that you are not inside a Black Hole reality.  You know there is virtual reality because we’ve created computer simulations yet you are not a character in one of our video games.  Potentially, there might be a reality of additional dimensions based on string theory.  However, the only reality that you’ve ever known is right here and now.

Because you have never experienced any other reality except the one which you currently find yourself in, you have no other reality that you have experienced which you may compare and contrast this reality also.  Thus, this reality could possibly be”a very elaborate simulation”.

Now it could well be that state the Cosmos of this Simulators would require to state 100,000 computer crunch electricity units to simulate one-on-one.  Regrettably, The Simulators only have 100 units of pc crunch power on tap and so have mimicked a 100 computer crunch power mini-Cosmos.  That is us; that’s our Universe by the way.  No near infinities need be input into, which reflects the type of computer crunch power units we’ve expanded.  We haven’t over-taxed our accessible systems of pc crunch electricity.

Now The Simulators, operating their simulation that is our mini-Cosmos (our Universe), may well have a different perception of time relative to what they have mimicked.  In other words, maybe one’minute’ of the existence equals one decade old ours.  Or, as we could speed up or slow down a DVD, so to could The Simulators control their simulator.  They can accelerate or fast-forward throughout the boring bits and slow-down when things become interesting.

Naturally, however smart we are is all pre-programmed in a simulation so we may not be supposed to be clever enough to discover a less than ideal simulation.  Which brings me full circle.  Considering that the only reality we know is the one, how can we compare what is and is not”ideal”?  Some things may strike us as anomalous, but we can not compare existences and degrees of perfection since we’re stuck with the one reality we find ourselves in.

Now you’exist’ inside a virtual reality because all your outward really real reality is changed by your brain’s internal mental software to fit inside your skull.  Since really real reality is not inside your skull, what you realize there needs to be virtual reality created from your brain’s psychological software.

Depth is an illusion generated by the software.

Now clearly that volume of space you visit cannot fit inside your skull, yet that is precisely where it is because 100 percent of your really actual reality is literally now inside your skull but as virtual reality.  Everything outside to your skull is perceived and filtered to fit comfortably inside your skull.  Just like in a simulation, the dimensionality has been changed.  Left-right and top-bottom are compressed to fit and thickness is again illusionary.  Your outside universe perhaps 3-D but your understanding is 2-D – just as any other virtual reality simulation game.

You don’t have enough bits and bytes inside your skull to adapt all that you see, therefore short-cut compromises are being created from your brain’s mental software so as to fit what you externally visit to fit that view that is now inside your skull.
